Fall Fashion Trends To Try This Year

Summer’s over, and now it’s time to start thinking about what you’re going to wear when the leaves start changing color. Chances are, you already have some fall staples in your closet (think sweaters, boots, and jackets). But every year also brings with it new trends—new takes on old favorites that help us freshen up our closets without breaking the bank—and now that summer’s over, it’s time to pick up your fall wardrobe. Here are some of the biggest fall fashion trends this season will be bringing you; take notes!

1. Cozy Minimalism

Cozy minimalism is going to be huge in 2021. Cozy clothing makes you feel warm and fuzzy on a chilly day while also emphasizing a minimalist mindset—keeping what’s needed and leaving out everything else. Minimalist fashion emphasizes comfort and convenience, which is why more and more people are opting for clothes that can double as pajamas. So add comfy leggings, slippers, scarves, oversized sweaters, or anything else made of fleece to your wardrobe for a layer of warmth without too much bulk!

2. Retro Styles

Retro styles are making a significant comeback in fashion, so if you’re searching for something new to try, these are some excellent places to start. By embracing your inner flower child or that bad-girl 70s vibe, you can have fun with both your clothes and your look. Throw on some bell bottoms, denim jackets, lace tops, and platform shoes—you’ll be sure to catch everyone’s attention. Many fashionistas are looking to the early 2000s too, for style inspiration. Whether you go with a Louis Vuitton Speedy or bring your vintage style by buying one of these Chanel Vintage Bags, we guarantee you’ll be turning heads. Of course, if classic isn’t your thing and you’re all about 2021, there are still plenty of hot trends to try out.

3. Chunky Boots

If you are looking for some great fall fashion trends to try, then why not go with one of our favorites? Chunky boots are here to stay, and if you haven’t had a chance to get yourself a pair, there is no better time than now. It can be hard to know where to start with all of these models out there. Some classic black basics or this monogram pair are some you can’t go wrong with. But there are countless different styles and types so that everyone can find something they like. So don’t wait until it is too late to grab up your favorite pair because once they’re gone, they may not be around again.

4) Lace-Up

It’s easy to see why lace-up sneakers are so popular—they look great with pretty much everything, from pants to skirts. Plus, they add a little sex appeal to otherwise understated outfits. If you’re not quite ready for all-out black leather, go for a pair in patent or suede. Lace-ups aren’t just for sneakers either; you can just as easily accessorize them on tall boots or booties. However you wear them, lace-ups provide an extra bit of pizazz that can take your fall wardrobe up a notch.

5. The Classic Denim Jacket

Denim jackets have been an ongoing trend for a few years now, but they’re still a good go-to for any season. Wear yours with a pencil skirt and patterned stockings for a fun dressy look or pair it with distressed shorts and a graphic tee for a casual outfit. A denim jacket will carry you from summer to fall flawlessly. If you buy one in the fall (like I did), the best part is that you can wear it all spring long, too!

6) Trendy Turtlenecks

They have come and gone as fashion staples, but they are back and to stay. Finally, a sweater with a tad bit more trend—turtlenecks are in for fall and winter, so incorporate them into your wardrobe by pairing them with your favorite printed pants or shorts. We love the knit turtlenecks because they’re comfortable enough to sleep in (and look great under scarves). You can find other designs online. If you dislike wearing turtlenecks around others (or need something warmer), try layering them under shorter cardigans; it keeps you warm while still looking good.

7. Statement Belts

Statement belts are not just a summer trend anymore. Statement belts bring sophistication and femininity to any outfit you pair them with, but they don’t have to cost a fortune. You can pick up a stunning statement belt for under $100 and stand out in any crowd. Of course, it’s important to find a belt that compliments your body type and personality, but you don’t have to break the bank doing it.
